About the calculations
The calculators use formulae and coefficients from standards and from consumable data sheets, and the source is named on each page. Even so, the result is an estimate: it knows nothing about the condition of your machine, the real composition of the heat, the conditions at the workplace or the requirements of the project.
Final welding parameters are set by the welding procedure specification (WPS) and the material certificate. Whether a weld is acceptable is decided by a qualified inspector, and the text of the standard takes precedence over any page here.
About safety
Welding carries risks of electric shock, fire, burns and fume inhalation. Nothing published here replaces safety instruction, personal protective equipment or the rules that apply at your workplace.
